Filled with authenticity and history that goes back thousands of years, when traders of the silk road from China used to pass with their caravans through this road, you will witness the scene even today. The ancient forts that guarded this part of the silk road have been preserved and they are just spectacular. Part of the Pamir highway from Kalai Khumb town to Langar of Wkahan valley goes along the famous Panj river which is a natural border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan the one you will cross to get into Afghanistan. In Afghanistan, you will be guided by a local Afghani who has led tours for more than 10 years now in this region. Wakhan is the most peaceful part of Afghanistan and many travelers visit this region every year. Spending one night in Afghanistan, you will visit the local bazaar, Ladies center, and ancient fortress. You will learn the culture of many different ethnic groups on this trip which includes Zoroastrian and Islamic traditions. After Afghanistan, you will cross back into Tajikistan and continue on your road trip to Osh in Kyrgyzstan through the moonlike landscapes of the eastern Pamir.
